IWID is pleased to announce that Ms. Anne Hayes has been extended for a second year as Disability and Gender Specialist.  Anne began her assignment in December 2006.  She will build on the accomplishments of her first year with USAID’s Special Programs to Address the Needs of Survivors (SPANS) which is based in the Bureau of Democracy and Governance at USAID/Washington.

Anne holds a Master’s degree in International Education Development, with an emphasis on education policy for vulnerable groups, from George Washington University.  She brings years of international experience in the disability field to her IWID fellowship, including positions with the Center for International Rehabilitation/International Disability Rights Monitor and the Landmine Survivors Network.
